Surface analysis
Surface analysis
Surface analysis technology
Surface observation is the surface analysis technique that uses electrons, photons, ions, atoms, strong electric fields, thermal energy, etc. to interact with solid surfaces to measure the energy spectrum, spectrum, mass spectrum of electrons, photons, ions, atoms, molecules scattered or emitted from the surface. , spatial distribution or diffraction images, various techniques for obtaining surface composition, surface structure, surface electronic states and surface physicochemical processes, collectively referred to as surface analysis techniques.
Surface composition analysis includes surface element composition, chemical state and its distribution in the surface layer. The latter relates to the lateral and longitudinal (depth) distribution of the elements on the surface.
Surface analysis characteristics
The surface is a solid end, the surface has no neighboring atoms on the outward side, and the surface atoms have some chemical bonds extending into the space, forming a "dangling bond." Thus the surface has a more active chemical nature than the bulk.
Surface refers to the interface of an object with a vacuum or gas.
Surface analysis usually studies solid surfaces. The surface sometimes refers to the monoatomic layer of the surface, sometimes referred to as the upper few atoms, and sometimes to the surface layer of the micron thickness.
